23.06.23 – Weekly Update

Website New Features

I have added an In Progress page to keep track of the moving pieces, as tracking these in an inbox has proven unwieldy. This will be updated in conjunction with the weekly status emails, or more frequently as events demand.

I have added a Calendar page to the site replacing the more static “Events” page, and have backfilled it with the data from the older page. Moving forward, I will keep all happenings here. Note that I preface annual reminders with the text [Annual]… This does not mean it is happening that day, but indicates that is the month in which that event should occur. As each annual event is scheduled, its final date and time will be added to the calendar.

Cleaning

Speaking of final dates, we have siding cleaning and gutter cleaning scheduled for July 18th through 20th!

Projects

Regarding the basement areas and fascia board replacement projects there are no major developments to report. Pending vendor quotes and have met on site with more vendors. We have 2 more stragglers we will be meeting with early into July, with the target being 3x quotes for remediation and 3x for the fascia boards. Once we have all quotes in hand we will pick a vendor and get a date on the calendar.

Finances

We are creating a petty cash fund of $500 to avoid board members having to float the association funds for things like salt during ice storms. Quinn Van Order will be responsible for this cash and all usage of it will be accounted for with board votes and invoices.

We as the board want to be extremely transparent, particularly with money. If there are any concerns or questions surrounding the petty cash fund please either email us or raise this in a meeting. The spend from this fund will be heavily monitored and audited to avoid shenanigans.

Safety

There have been concerns surrounding cat food left outside stairwells attracting racoons. Living next to a major wetlands area, we have to walk a fine line with our furry neighbors, let’s not make our stairwells look like an attractive place for wildlife to hang out please!
